Accountant

Job Description:

Contract role until 4/2026.

Responsibilities:

• Perform monthly account balancing and reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
• Prepare and process customer invoices and purchase statements for timely settlement.
• Manage inter-company transactions and settlements.
• Post SAP journal entries, accruals, netbacks, and reconcile physical inventory with system records.
• Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Provide accounting support and financial analysis during monthly close and for Financial Planning & Analysis (F&PA).
• Prepare and submit regulatory financial reports in compliance with relevant standards.
• Participate in special projects related to Crude Supply and Trading as assigned.

Basic Qualifications (Required):

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in an accounting or finance-related role.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
• Strong attention to detail, initiative, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Comfortable working independently in a dynamic, open trade floor environment.
• Willingness to work additional hours during financial close and settlement periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of SAP.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong continuous improvement mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• CMA or CGA designation considered an asset.
