Job Description:

Material Handlers may work in the shipping, receiving, and inventory or return areas of the parts distribution center and may be rotated between all areas within a scheduled period. Duties include picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift driving, and cycle counting. Material handlers may perform special duties as requested and work on special projects within the distribution center.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Receive freight, including off loading of containers
  • Accurately identify, count and verify parts using receiving documents
  • Stock parts based on part number and location
  • Pick part orders using RF technology and packing labels
  • Pack parts according to packing requirements
  • Operate machinery as necessary (ex: forklifts, high reach order pickers, tuggers, etc)
  • Maintain clean and safe working areas anddisplay good housekeeping habits.
  • Work within specified hazardous material handling requirements
  • Perform cycle counts and physical inventories when required
  • Participate in a 'continuous improvement' environment that facilitates process enhancements
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment by demonstrating an enthusiastic and solution-oriented approach to challenges.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with team members, management, and stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely information flow.
  • Consistently monitor work to ensure accuracy, precision, and adherence to company policies and quality standards, identifying and addressing discrepancies promptly.
  • Actively participate in team projects, contribute ideas, and support colleagues to achieve team goals and foster a culture of teamwork and cooperation.
  • Prioritize and balance a diverse range of responsibilities, completing tasks within deadlines and maintaining high standards of quality in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adhere to and promote safety protocols and best practices in all aspects of the role, contributing to a safe and secure working environment.
  • Maintain a consistent presence at work, ensuring availability for scheduled shifts and contributing to the team's success through reliable attendance.
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

Required Qualifications Include

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Experience with mechanized equipment and Forklift certification is preferred
  • Basic computer (PC) proficiency that include exposure to a parts information system and MS Office is preferred
  • Ability to operate hand-held RF-unit equipment

Percentage of required travel: 0%

Schedule/Shift: M-F

Must be able to work overtime when necessary including weekends
