Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated Marketing and Business Development Specialist extern to support a fast-paced, mission-driven organization in Washington, DC. This externship provides a unique opportunity to develop critical business and marketing skills while gaining exposure to green infrastructure and sustainability projects.

As an extern, you will collaborate with our team to identify business opportunities, prepare competitive proposals, and engage with professionals in the industryall while learning about cutting-edge green infrastructure practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Development Support:
  • Research and identify new project opportunities in Washington, DC.
  • Assist in preparing Request for Proposal (RFP) packages.
  • Attend business development events to promote the organization and build connections with industry leaders.
• Marketing Activities:
  • Post updates and engage audiences on LinkedIn.
  • Update the organizations website to showcase new projects and initiatives.
• Green Infrastructure Education:
  • Attend project site visits to observe and learn about green infrastructure implementations.
  • Participate in project technical reviews to gain insight into sustainable development practices.

Qualifications

• Education: A 4-year degree in Marketing, Business Development, Environmental Studies, Urban Planning, or a related field.
• Skills:  Strong written and verbal communication, proficiency with social media platforms (especially LinkedIn), and familiarity with web content management.
• Interest: Passion for sustainability, green infrastructure, or urban development is highly desired.
