Design Technician - Packaging Prototypes

Job Description:

Design Samplemaking Prototypes Technician needed contract to hire full time with a large Worldwide Manufacturing company.

Technically and mechanically savy with general knowledge of equipment and software Ability to calculate dimensions, weight, and material quantities for timing and cost purposes Excellent attention to detail with analytical and organizational skills Ability to proactively plan and prioritize multiple tasks effectively Flexible and able to conform to shifting priorities Problem-solving and customer service skills Verbal and written communication skills. Microsoft Excel & Powerpoint. Requires heavy lifting and moving objects up to 50 lbs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create prototypes from CAD files, specification drawings, or other instructions, while assuring quality and technical standards are met
Operate CAD cutting tables and other prototyping equipment
Collaborate with project team on project plan, prioritizing tasks, and proactively communicating through the life of the project
Organize project files and other assets appropriately5
Maintain Design lab, performing routine maintenance on equipment, storage, inventory, and work area
Preserve proper levels of raw material inventory and prototyping related supplies
Responsible for shipping and receiving procedures
Promote Design safety procedures, in alignment with Veritiv's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies
