Warehouse Associate

Job Description:

Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour

Work Schedule:

• Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM (flexibility required in case new locations have different needs)

*Must be located close to Bedford Park, IL and Hobart, IN as may need to work at two seperate locations

Contract role until February 2026. 

Position Summary

Under general supervision, the Warehouse associate performs manual and clerical duties related to the shipment and receipt of materials, supplies, equipment, and finished products. This position supports warehouse operations at both Bedford Park and Hobart locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate both stand-up and sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently.
• Pull and prepare orders for shipment.
• Receive goods, verify items against shipment records, and inspect condition of materials.
• Gather, verify, and pack items for shipment in accordance with specifications and transportation methods.
• Record shipments and receipts in written and computerized systems.
• Route materials, supplies, and equipment to inspection or stock areas.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
• Perform additional warehouse duties as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 1 year of related warehouse or shipping/receiving experience.
• Forklift certification preferred (stand-up and sit-down).
• Knowledge of typical shipping and receiving procedures, with ability to handle exceptions.
• Basic reading, writing, and numerical skills required.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record may be required.
• Ability to operate powered equipment such as forklifts or hydraulic jack lifts.
• Effective verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
