Job Description:

Tooling Technician
Pay: $21-$29/hr

Summary

Maintain, repair, and prepare production-ready molds and tooling safely and on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean, maintain, store, and change molds per production schedule.
• Inspect and troubleshoot molds with processing team.
• Perform basic machining (surface grinder, lathe, Bridgeport mill, sandblast).
• Repair/modify molds, jigs, fixtures, and equipment.
• Communicate with tooling vendors (local/global).
• Document maintenance, repairs, changeovers, and spare parts inventory.
• Manage tooling supplies and components to prevent downtime.
• Create and update electronic changeover and assembly instructions.
• Train floor staff on proper tooling care.
• Submit at least 3 continuous improvement ideas annually.
• Maintain safety of company and customer assets.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ year tooling or manufacturing experience.
• Forklift certified.
• Proficient with micrometers, calipers, and shop equipment.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills for documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and math skills (basic algebra/geometry).
• ITAR compliant (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Individual).
• Must pass background check.

Physical / Work Environment

• Stand, bend, climb, and lift up to 100 lbs.
• Work near moving machinery in a loud manufacturing setting.
