Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

• Project Design & Engineering:Lead and design projects supporting capital and operations/maintenance budgets for facilities, including service centers, commercial buildings, and yards.
  Support projects for other departments, including Steam Distribution, Substation Operations, Electrical Operations, IT, and Transportation Operations.
  
• Mechanical Systems Expertise:Provide engineering support for mechanical systems in commercial buildings and yards, such as HVAC, controls, pumping, and heat exchange systems.
  Perform equipment sizing calculations and select appropriate mechanical equipment.
  Ensure compliance with NYS and NYC Building Codes.
  
• Technical Review:Review and approve contractor designs, calculations, shop drawings, and submittals.
  Maintain the highest standards of accuracy and compliance in design deliverables.
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 8 years of experience in design and the application of engineering principles in the relevant field.
• Proficient knowledge of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
• In-depth understanding of NYS and NYC Building Codes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 6 years of experience in design and the application of engineering principles in the relevant field.
