Kitchen Helper
Schedule: Mid Shift, 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM. Must be open to working weekend hours.

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Kitchen Helper to join our commercial kitchen team in Jamaica, NY. This is a temporary-to-hire opportunity with the potential for long-term employment for the right candidate. The ideal individual will have prior experience in a professional kitchen, strong knife skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with food preparation, including safe and efficient use of knives and other kitchen tools.
• Perform heavy lifting of up to 40 pounds for ingredients, supplies, and equipment.
• Support kitchen staff with gathering, organizing, and storing supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas according to food safety and sanitation standards.
• Follow directions and recipes accurately while maintaining attention to detail.
• Work effectively as part of a team to meet production and service goals.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen is required.
• Strong knife skills and familiarity with food preparation techniques.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds safely and frequently.
• Must be punctual, reliable, and willing to learn.
• Positive attitude with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to speak and understand English to follow directions and safety procedures.
