Accounting Analyst II

Job Description:

This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of natural gas transactions, including transportation, storage, and physical purchase/sale transactions. The position also supports reporting to Management with detailed analysis and explanations of significant variances from plan. The ideal candidate will take initiative in problem-solving and serve as a key partner across the organization.

Contract role until 3/2026.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the monthly accounting and closing cycle by ensuring all current month transactions are accurately recorded, performing account analysis, and completing reconciliation procedures.
• Record transactions in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.
• Validate and support all balance sheet items.
• Accrue transactions on an estimated basis and adjust upon receipt of actual data as required.
• Process natural gas sale and purchase transactions for assigned assets with accuracy and timeliness.
• Accurately and promptly pay commodity and transportation invoices.
• Build strong relationships with the Commercial organization and clearly communicate financial and operational results.
• Ensure all applicable regulatory reporting requirements are met with timeliness and accuracy.
• Provide information and assistance for internal and external audits.
• Complete quarterly and annual regulatory reporting requirements.
• Participate in testing for system implementations and updates.

Basic/Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
• Proficiency in SAP, Excel, Outlook, and Allegro.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize effectively, and resolve issues accurately and efficiently.
