Reports to: Shift SupervisorBasic FunctionsResponsible for operating rewind and finishing equipment to inspect and slit and finish labels to customer specifications. Assists Senior Press Operators or Press Operators to produce quality labels and product according to order specifications.Major Duties<ul> <li>Reads order specifications, sets up rewind and finishing equipment to finish product and pack for shipment to customers.</li> <li>Coordinate set up activities with the press operator to be as efficient as possible.</li> <li>Works with Operators and Quality to ensure that production has manufactured quality labels.</li> <li>Ensure core tags and rewind position is correct as required by order.</li> <li>Ensure proper splice.</li> <li>Apply knowledge to check orders and ensure that all press work is up to company and customer quality specifications.</li> <li>Packs product according to specifications.</li> <li>Assist operators with make ready and wash ups.</li> <li>Communicates effectively with all manufacturing personnel.</li> <li>Complete reports and enter data on jobs to provide accurate documentation of time.</li> <li>Works overtime as needed.</li> <li>Performs other related duties as directed.</li></ul>Minor Duties<ul> <li>Retrieve and enter information electronically as needed.</li> <li>Reports all machine problems to maintenance department personnel or supervisor immediately.</li> <li>Keeps work area clean and orderly.</li> <li>Work with minimal amount of supervision.</li> <li>Attend monthly safety meetings and observe all safety policies and procedures.</li></ul>Skills<ul> <li>Reading and math above a high school level.</li> <li>Basic computer skills.</li> <li>Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.</li> <li>Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to complete the printing job.</li></ul>Essential Functions and Working Conditions<ul> <li>Must have the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness.
