We are a fast-growing, mid-sized company located near downtown Denver seeking an experienced and hands-on Warehouse Manager to lead operations in our 40,000 sq. ft. distribution warehouse. This role requires someone with strong leadership, excellent communication, and a calm, solutions-focused approach to day-to-day warehouse operations.
As the Warehouse Manager, you will oversee a team of 8 employees and temporary staff, managing daily shipping, receiving, and inventory activities. The facility supports hundreds of small parcel and LTL shipments daily and receives an average of three containers per week.
This is not a desk-only roleyou will be actively involved in daily operations, assisting with tasks on the floor when needed to support your team and ensure smooth execution of warehouse functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, inventory control, and staffing.
- Actively participate in daily warehouse tasks to support the team and ensure workflow efficiency.
- Supervise a team of warehouse employees and temps, including recruiting, training, coaching, performance evaluations, terminations, and wage recommendations.
- Maintain and administer the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for accurate tracking of inventory and workflow.
- Enforce cycle count procedures and maintain high levels of inventory accuracy.
- Operate and supervise use of material handling equipment including forklifts, stand-up forklifts, and reach trucks.
- Ensure adherence to warehouse safety standards and OSHA compliance.
- Plan and execute warehouse improvement projects and coordinate with leadership on process optimization.
- Assist with occasional weekend work to help the team stay on schedule when needed.
- Address and manage personnel matters professionally, including call-offs, interpersonal conflicts, and morale.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 7+ years of warehouse management experience in a fast-paced distribution or logistics environment.
- Strong history of job stabilitywe are seeking candidates with proven retention and not frequent job-hoppers.
- Hands-on experience in core warehouse operations, including order fulfillment, inventory management, and logistics coordination.
- High emotional intelligence and HR maturity to effectively handle team dynamics, conflict resolution, and personnel issues.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with a positive attitude and team-first mentality.
- Proficiency in WMS systems and inventory control processes.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be comfortable working alongside the team on the floor when needed.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
