Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Assist pastry chef in day-to-day operation and be the point of contact in his/her absence. Bake and prepare pastry items according to specification/recipe.
- Monitor wastage and complete assigned tasks within the given time to meet strict deadlines.
- Motivate the team and ensure all work areas are always clean. Participate in on-job training and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations as stated in the food safety management system handbook.
- Report problems with the food safety management system to their manager and the hygiene and food safety team.
- Ensure adequacy of supplies at the cooking stations.
- Store ingredients and food items according to food safety standards and follow the guidance of the executive or pastry chef.
- Help to maintain a climate of smooth and friendly cooperation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pastry/bakery preferably within a large production volume unit.
- Knowledge of baking ingredients, measuringtechniques, mixing methods, kitchen equipment, and baking times.
- Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making,baking,or relevant fieldis desirable.
