  • Onsite in Duluth, GA
  • Schedule: 8-5 M-F. Monday and Friday are hybrid

Only considering candidates with the following:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred from accredited university
  • FPC, CPP or equivalent certification and/or experience, preferred
  • 3-5 years of full cycle payroll administration work experience, including multiple provinces
  • Systems experience with various timekeeping and payroll software packages (e.g., PS & Kronos today; Workforce Solutions in the future)
  • Knowledge of payroll practices and HRIS systems, including PeopleSoft
  • Knowledgeable of applicable federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of Canadian payroll processing required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under time constraints to meet critical deadlines
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Good technical aptitude to learn new software systems easily
  • Expertise in Excel functionality (e.g., formulas, linked spreadsheets, pivot tables, formatting reports, charts & graphs)
  • Proficiency with payroll and timekeeping systems
  • Advanced knowledge of payroll data and ability to query and report on it
  • Ability to create training materials and effectively deliver training
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a team-oriented environment with a focus on total customer satisfaction

Responsibilities:

  • Process accurate and timely payrolls for all employees
  • Process all payroll transactions and prepare file loads for hourly and salaried payrolls
  • Key direct deposit, tax, and deductions into the system for processing
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and provincial tax laws
  • Resolve customer service issues and problems using expertise in payroll policies and laws
  • Respond to employee questions and resolve discrepancies
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for U.S. payroll-related issues
  • Maintain payroll records and databases
  • Follow all defined payroll SOX controls as outlined in the payroll narrative
  • Provide analysis or work on projects assigned by manager
  • Maintain time and attendance systems to ensure accurate data for payroll processing and reporting
  • Download information from Workbrain and Kronos into QlikView to model current pay period
  • Analyze/research each variance to ensure hours are accurate
  • Work with locations to update or change time accordingly
  • Update and maintain employee information
  • Pull payroll time files and load/submit them into PeopleSoft
  • Adhere to departmental and organizational deadlines for payroll
  • Compare gross wages in PeopleSoft to Workbrain or Kronos
  • Use Excel to calculate yearly vacation hourly rates
  • Review for discrepancies
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, contracts, and applicable state and federal laws
