Job Description:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual for an immediate start opportunity as a Temporary Grants and Contracts Specialist for a 3-month assignment in Prince George's County. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of experience in grant administration, business, or project management. Prior experience at an institution of higher education is preferred, and a general understanding of Federal regulations, guidelines, and practices would be beneficial.
Responsibilities: As a Grants and Contracts Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:
Grant and Contract Administration:
- Assist in the administration of grants, cooperative agreements, and contracts.
- Ensure compliance with the management of federal contracts, time and effort, Institutional Review Board (IRB), and other processes.
Project Planning and Management:
- Work directly with staff members to plan and manage projects and programs.
- Track spending on sponsored projects and review budgets.
Document Processing:
- Review and track budgets to ensure the timely processing of documents and expenditures.
- Compose responses to routine inquiries and help track relevant documents.
Research and Enhancement:
- Research policies and practices to enhance grant administration at [Organization/University Name].
- Technical Assistance and Events:
- Assist with technical assistance sessions and research-related events and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
- Minimum of three years of experience in grant administration, business, or project management.
- Prior work experience at an institution of higher education is preferred.
- General knowledge of Federal regulations, guidelines, and practices is advantageous.
