Job Description:
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST, with on-call weekends
Contract role for 3 months with possibility to be temp to hire for the right candidate.
Will be required to go to the warehouse once week. Warehouse location is in Pasadena, TX.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Field Sourcing Specialist to support procurement and sourcing efforts within a designated zone or business unit. This individual will lead end-to-end bidding and sourcing activities, manage supplier relationships, mitigate commercial risk, and drive cost-saving initiatives while supporting key field operations and turnaround events.
Key Responsibilities:
Sourcing & Procurement:
- Lead sourcing and bidding processes for purchases within the assigned zone or business unit (BU).
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop specifications and scopes of work.
- Identify, qualify, and recommend bidders.
- Develop and issue Requests for Quotes (RFQs); conduct job walks and bid meetings.
- Complete commercial and technical bid tabulations and assist in supplier selection.
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms; author and execute contracts for materials and services.
Commercial Risk Management:
- Address risks during the sourcing process.
- Ensure contractors meet safety and insurance requirements; initiate pre-screening for new vendors.
- Confirm critical suppliers are qualified and maintain documentation accordingly.
Capital Projects & Turnarounds (TARs):
- Participate in budget and planning meetings for major capital and maintenance projects.
- Lead procurement planning for TARs and manage tracking and documentation.
- Develop business strategies for spend optimization in unmanaged categories.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Track and report cost savings and sourcing outcomes.
- Maintain documentation to support purchasing activities and contractor utilization.
Competency & Leadership:
- Lead contract negotiations and demonstrate technical understanding of field operations.
- Mentor new sourcing specialists; support special initiatives and reports.
- Collaborate with Category Management for strategic sourcing.
Corporate Supply Chain Support:
- Promote use of managed suppliers and report non-compliance.
- Identify new frame agreement opportunities and participate in supplier relationship meetings.
Field Support & Value Creation:
- Address quality or performance issues with suppliers.
- Provide on-site support during major TARs.
- Support asset disposition and promote best procurement practices.

Education Required: High School Diploma (College Preferred) Experience Required: Minimum 5 years of procurement experience
