Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST
Hybrid - 3 days in-office / 2 days remote
Contract Length: 12 months (with potential for temp-to-hire)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil-Structural Engineer/Designer with a strong background in civil and structural design for industrial projects within an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) environment. This role will play a key part in delivering design, technical review, and execution support for industrial plant infrastructure across the Gulf Coast and U.S.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and oversee civil and structural engineering design for industrial plant construction projects
- Support project phases: Proposal, Geotechnical, Engineering, Bidding, and Construction
- Conduct scope of work definition, technical reviews, and design validation
- Review inputs and deliverables from both internal and external teams for consistency and completeness
- Engage with EPC firms and vendors to ensure scope, budget, and schedule alignment
- Address RFIs and technical queries from field and project teams
- Review vendor/fabricator shop drawings and provide necessary feedback
- Lead and support interdisciplinary coordination (civil, structural, piping, E&I, etc.)
- Offer responsible charge services as a licensed PE; assist in acquiring additional state PE licenses as needed
- Perform structural design of concrete and steel systems, anchorage, and pile foundations
- Contribute to improving in-house design standards, especially in dynamic equipment and cooling tower foundations
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (required)
- Licensure: Current Texas PE License in Civil Engineering
- Experience: 10-25 years of relevant EPC experience
- Travel: Up to 25%, including potential international and domestic air travel
Technical Skills & Tools
- Proficiency in Civil-3D, StormCAD, HEC-RAS
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Navisworks, SmartPlant Review
- Experience with structural design tools such as STAAD, Mat3D
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic and hydrological design standards (Atlas 13/14, local Texas regulations)
- Knowledge of IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC and other relevant codes and standards
- Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office
