Apply Today, Work Today Weekly PayJob Description: About the Job:The Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting tests on metal powders to ensure theymeet quality standards and specifications. This role involves working with various types ofmetal powders, maintaining laboratory equipment and recording data accurately.Key Responsibilities: Prepare metal powder samples for testing. Perform standard and specialized tests for metal powders characteristics such asparticle size, density and chemical composition. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, such as microscopes, sieves andspectrometers. Record test results accurately and maintain detailed logs. Analyze data to ensure consistency with quality standards. Prepare reports, summarizing findings and observations. Perform tests in compliance with established protocols and industry standards. Identify and report deviations from quality standards and assist introubleshooting/resolving quality issues related to metal powders. Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment for accurate and reliable results. Comply with relevant regulations and standards in handling and disposing of metalpowders. Collaborate with other laboratory technicians, engineers and quality control teammembers on improving testing methods and protocols, and continuous improvementinitiatives.Required and Preferred Experience and Skills, Education Qualifications: Associates degree or higher in Chemistry, materials science or related field. Relevant certifications or additional training in laboratory techniques is a plus. Previous experience in a laboratory setting, particularly with metal powders, is a plus. Familiarity with laboratory equipment and testing procedures. Must be proficient in using laboratory instruments and software.Desired Candidate qualities: Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently or in a team environment. Self-starting, working withminimum supervision on assigned projects when required. Effective verbal and written communication skills.Work Environment and Physical Requirements of the role: The position is based in a manufacturing facility, including loud noises, movingmechanical parts and exposure to metal powders. Work hours may include shifts, weekends and holidays as needed to meet productiondemands. Strict adherence to safety protocols is required to minimize risks associated withhandling hazardous materials. The role requires wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), includingsteel-toe shoes, protective eyewear, earplugs and respiratory equipment (when workingwith metal powders). Must have capacity to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.Travel:Some domestic travel may be required.Full-time, Part-time $ 28.0/hrHC24
