Contract Procurement Specialist
Job Description:
Procurement & Sourcing: Place purchase orders in MRP for production, non-production, and service items with approved suppliers.
Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers through regular meetings, teleconferences, and site visits.
Negotiation & Cost Management: Issue RFQs, analyze bids, and negotiate pricing, contracts, and cost reductions while maintaining quality and service levels.
Inventory & Order Management: Review open order status, adjust MRP requirements, expedite or cancel orders as needed, and resolve supplier billing discrepancies.
Quality & Compliance: Collaborate with product teams and suppliers to address defective or unacceptable goods, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Process Improvement: Develop procurement strategies such as blanket POs, volume-based discounts, and Kanban-supported inventory management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with receiving and quality assurance teams to resolve documentation and quality discrepancies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience: 7+ years in purchasing or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
Education: Bachelor's degree preferred; coursework in purchasing or supply chain management is a plus.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MRP systems (SAP, Epicor, etc.), Microsoft Word, and Excel.
Analytical & Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze data, optimize procurement strategies, and implement cost-saving measures.
Communication & Negotiation: Strong ability to negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers and collaborate effectively with internal teams.
